To experience the city in a different way and make sure you don't miss any of its secrets, let yourself be inspired by ‘Perpignan Experiences’, a selection of original activities and visits that you can book all year round.

Day 1

10am

The sky is immensely blue and the air is filled with a delicious light air.

Straight ahead, the Castillet, the gateway to Perpignan, looks like a small castle. As you pass under its red brick archway, the shopping streets spread out towards the historic centre. Then it's back up to the Loge de Mer, a superb Gothic building that houses the tourist office.

Under the eternal gaze of Maillol's Venus, the buildings are full of colour. Pink, ochre, yellow... On the left, St Jean's cathedral looms large with its wrought-iron bell tower.

12pm

Time for an aperitif!

Passing through the Place de la République, where the cafés have taken over, we take a look at Olivier Bajard's shop. You'll have to come back again to buy the chocolates and cakes of this Meilleur Ouvrier de France pastry chef, chocolatier, ice-cream maker and confectioner.

In the meantime, head to Rue Paratilla and its spicy flavours Here, the bars and wine cellars are serving ham, oysters and wine.

2pm

Shopping.

The streets are full of shops. The addresses are trendy, fashionable or more timeless.

In a showroom-like setting, Maison Caldeira stocks up on jewellery, decorative items, beauty products and designer furniture.

A little further on, the Toiles du Soleil window displays its famous striped fabrics, still made in the area.

5pm

In a recess of the rue des Trois Journées, Séréni'Thé offers sweets and drinks for a sweet break!

As you continue your stroll, a glance at the jewellery shops will reveal the Perpignan garnet (IG), a dark, intense red stone that is the pride of traditional craftsmanship.

8pm

It's time for dinner. Whether organic, traditional, gastro or world food, Perpignan is bursting with tasty addresses that celebrate fresh, local produce.

10pm

It's time to indulge in the pleasure of the light tour that colours the walls of the St Jean district, an immersive experience.

But Perpignan is as much about daytime as it is about night-time, so take a trip to the bars and nightclubs to dance the night away!

Day 2

10am

Why not climb up a bit and discover Perpignan in all its magnificence?

From the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette, you can admire the rooftops of the city with a coffee in hand. Below, the Quai Vauban, with its café terraces in the shade of plane trees, runs alongside the Basse surrounded by lawns and flowerbeds.

Serene, the former capital of the Kings of Majorca is sunny.

12am

"Les Halles" is the place to be!

Everyone meets here. At lunchtime, the atmosphere is more family-friendly. The stalls are packed with cheeses, charcuterie, olives, seafood and wines. Sit back and enjoy. Inside or outside on the large shaded patio.

At night, you're guaranteed a festive atmosphere!

3pm

Now it's time for culture.

At 21 Mailly street, behind a huge wooden door, hides the Rigaud museum. In its bright, contemporary rooms, one exhibition follows another.

Starting in June, don't miss the exhibition featuring Maillol and Picasso!

5pm

If that's not enough, there are plenty of art galleries, shops and workshops to explore throughout the city.

And to extend the experience, book in just a few clicks on ‘Perpignan Expériences’: gourmet workshops, unusual guided tours, nature escapades... there are a thousand ways to love Perpignan!
