Today, the Hyacinthe Rigaud Art Museum is located on the entire grounds of the Hôtel de Lazerme and the Hôtel de Mailly .

In June 2017, the reopening of the museum, after extensive renovations, allowed the discovery of a renaissance. Indeed, the museum now brings together the entirety of the Hôtel de Lazerme and the Hôtel de Mailly. Perpignan residents and visitors are invited to enter a new museum, completely renovated and expanded, with new spaces and a redesigned presentation of the permanent and temporary collections , which is spread over an area of 1,400 m².

The key works have been renovated, sometimes following technical feats involving several trades - restorers, chemists, photographers, etc. -, notably for the Trinity Altarpiece which has since regained its former splendor.

The second floor of the museum is entirely dedicated to the museum's temporary exhibitions : Picasso Perpignan (2017); Jean Capdeville and Jacques Capdeville (2017/2018); Raoul Dufy, the Perpignan workshops 1940-1950 (2018); Clavé, on the art front (2019); Rodin-Maillol Face to Face (2019); Portraits of Queens of France (1630-1665) (2020-2021); Portraits in Majesty (2021); Monfreid under the sun of Gauguin (2022).

The permanent route is also denser and allows four parts to be presented through the museum's collections: Gothic Perpignan , Baroque Perpignan , Modern Perpignan , Perpignan today .

A shop now stands at the end of the visitor's journey. An educational workshop, a conference room and tablets complete the services that the museum offers to the public.
